Miguel has built his career within CEFIC since joining in 2012, progressing through a number of roles of increasing responsibility. He has worked closely with members and Specialty Chemicals sector groups across a broad range of policy and regulatory files. His expertise lies in food, feed, and food contact materials, as well as plastics additives, coordinating CEFIC activities and sector groups in these areas. This experience has given him a strong understanding of the Specialty Chemicals landscape and the priorities of CEFIC’s membership.

Miguel Prieto Arranz, Specialty Chemicals Executive Director, CEFIC, commented: “There is an incredible depth of scientific and policy expertise, dedication and innovation capacity among the people working in the Specialty Chemicals sector groups, and I’m really looking forward to working closely with them in this role. My focus will be on supporting their work, strengthening collaboration across groups, and helping turn expertise into tangible impact.”

Miguel will be responsible for overseeing eight Specialty Chemicals clusters, supporting their work on policy, regulatory and competitiveness files, and ensuring effective coordination and coherence across the specialty chemicals community within CEFIC. He will work closely with sector groups and members to help address key challenges facing Europe’s specialty chemicals value chains.

Miguel takes over from Marc Vermeulen, who has served as Executive Director, Specialty Chemicals for over nine years. Marc will now transition to a Senior Advisor role, continuing to support Specialty Chemicals and Operations and providing continuity through his experience and expertise.
