ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — The south tower of the Arthur M. Blank Hospital was closed Thursday due to a chemical incident, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta said.
Children’s Healthcare did not specify the nature of the chemical. The hospital said ambulatory patients and staff in the south tower were sent home, but that there was no impact to the emergency department or main building.
The DeKalb County Fire Department and HAZMAT units are working to remove the chemical.
