Lloyds Bank issues update as your account details ‘may look different’ | Personal Finance | Finance

Lloyds Bank has clarified a discrepancy that customers may see when viewing their accounts online. The group explained its rules after a customer noticed a change to their accounts.

The person contacted Lloyds over social media as they had noticed that the bank had renamed their accounts in online banking, while leaving the previous names in the app. They said this was a “pain” to have to deal with, asking: “What is that achieving?”

Lloyds responded to offer their sympathies. The group said: “We understand it’s annoying. Updates to online banking and the app don’t always roll out at the same time, so account names can look different temporarily.”

The bank added this word of assurance: “Nothing’s changed with your accounts themselves.” But the customer was still confused about the mismatch between the information showing on the two platforms.

They asked: “Is it to try and force us to use the app more?” Lloyds responded to say this was not the case. The provider said: “No, it’s not about pushing the app.

“The website and app are updated separately, so names can look different for a short time. It’s temporary and doesn’t change how your accounts work.”

Bonus cash offers

Lloyds Bank is currently offering some free cash if you will switch over to them. You can get £200 if you’ll switch to a new Club Lloyds, Club Lloyds Silver or Club Lloyds Platinum current account.

The bank is also offering £500 if you’ll move over to a new Lloyds Premier account. You can also get up to £1,200 in cashback when you open a one or two year fixed rate ISA or an online fixed bond with Lloyds.

Customers can also get up to £600 in cashback if you transfer into or set up a new share dealing account or share dealing ISA with the provider. More information is available on the Lloyds website.
