Katie Price’s husband Lee Andrews is reported to have been released from Dubai’s Al Awir prison following four weeks behind bars.

The 42-year-old is believed to have contacted his wife via FaceTime within minutes of his release on Friday.

Mr Andrews had initially claimed he was being held on espionage charges, but UAE authorities dismissed this assertion, confirming his detention related to a private civil matter involving suspected fraud.

Reports suggested that at least one charge concerned a bounced cheque.

A friend confirmed to The Sun: “Lee is out, and back in his rental.”

Ms Price notably did not contribute towards the £140,000 fine that had been demanded for his release.

Following his release and phone call with her husband, Ms Price told The Sun: “I’m excited – but trust me, I have questions.”

The saga began in mid-May when Mr Andrews vanished without explanation, prompting Ms Price to initially tell followers he had been “kidnapped.”

The Dubai-based businessman had been scheduled to fly to London for a joint appearance with his wife on Good Morning Britain, but never arrived.

He later admitted to Mr Price that he was subject to a UAE travel ban.

Mr Andrews told Ms Price he had been “bundled into a van” with his hands bound at the Dubai border and transported to a so-called “black site” while attempting to reach her.

His family filed a missing persons report with the British embassy, though consular officials could find no trace of him before he was eventually located at Al Awir.

When Ms Price travelled to Dubai seeking his release, she discovered authorities required £140,000 to free him. Mr Andrews reportedly asked her to launch an online fundraiser, which she flatly refused.

Close friends are now pressing the mother-of-five to end her five-month marriage following a wave of serious accusations from several women.

Mr Andrews has formally denied all historical allegations against him

Ms Price was also dropped as an ambassador for the charity Women’s Trust in March amid the mounting allegations.

Ms Price has previously defended her husband publicly, stating: “He has never laid a finger on me. He has been kind to me, and treated me better than anyone.”

She added: “I think some of these women are just bitter exes. They’ve done enough warning now, just leave it. I’m a big girl, I can look after myself.”

However, following a six-hour meeting in Dubai with one of his exes, Ms Price acknowledged: “My eyes have been opened. I just need some time to think.”

The 48-year-old has been examining Mr Andrews’ mobile phones since returning to Britain and is believed to be considering offers to make a documentary about the ordeal.

She declared: “People have taken advantage of me my whole life. Never again.”
