Traffic Curbs Across Central Delhi for Ambedkar Jayanti Procession

New Delhi: Delhi Traffic Police on Monday issued an advisory ahead of 135th birth anniversary celebrations of Dr BR Ambedkar, set to be held at Ramlila Ground on Tuesday.A public meeting will take place at the venue between 11 am and 3 pm, following which a shobha yatra will proceed towards Ambedkar Bhawan in Paharganj.The procession is expected to pass through central Delhi stretches, including Ajmeri Gate, Shradhanand Market, Khari Baoli, Qutub Road, Sadar Bazar, Bara Tooti Chowk, Pahari Dhiraj, Filmistan Cinema, Manakpura, Sidhi Pura, East Park Road, DBG Road, Guru Ravidas Marg, Dev Nagar, Kikar Wala Chowk, Hathi Wala Chowk, Regar Pura, Arya Samaj Road, Dr Ambedkar Marg and Rani Jhansi Marg.Traffic diversions will be imposed on a need basis between 9 am and 7 pm, particularly along JLN Marg. Movement of heavy vehicles may also be curtailed from Delhi Gate, Minto Road and Ajmeri Gate.Commuters have been advised to avoid several roads during the day, including JLN Marg, Asaf Ali Road, Chaman Lal Marg, Ajmeri Gate, Minto Road, Qutub Road, Rani Jhansi Marg, East Park Road and DBG Road.Parking instructions state that vehicles should not be parked along JLN Marg, Asaf Ali Road, Chaman Lal Marg or along the rally route. Parked vehicles will be towed and prosecuted. Visitors attending have been advised to use the designated parking at Mata Sundari College.
