Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana trailer launch turned into a spectacular evening in New Delhi as the film’s star-studded cast came together to unveil the much-awaited epic. Stars including Yash, Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Rakul Preet Singh, Sunny Deol, Vivek Oberoi, Arun Govil, Ravi Dubey, Kunal Kapoor and Shobhana were present for the grand trailer launch.

The evening marked Pratham Sankalp, the ceremonial beginning of Ramayana‘s journey from Bharat to the World. In Indian tradition, a Sankalp is the conscious intention and commitment made before embarking on a great undertaking. For the makers of Ramayana, it represents a shared commitment to honour one of India’s greatest cultural treasures and present it to the world with authenticity, artistic excellence and deep reverence.

Pratham Sankalp also marked the first public coming together of the principal cast of Ramayana, a landmark celebration that united generations of Indian cinema around one of India’s greatest cultural legacies.

The star-studded affair began with a special address by Kumar Vishwas who explained Ramayana’s significance, followed by a soulful performance by renowned sitar player Rishab Rikhiram Sharma. In his own style, Sharma gave a unique fusion to the devotional songs.

Film producer Namit Malhotra spoke about the vision behind Ramayana and the years of dedication, craftsmanship and effort that went into bringing the ambitious cinematic spectacle to life. He praised the team and briefed about how they started off with the film’s casting process.

The epic ensemble is led by Ranbir Kapoor, who plays Lord Ram, one of the most revered and inspirational figures across generations. Sai Pallavi brings Sita to life, portraying her with grace, strength and compassion, while pan-India star Rocking Star Yash takes on the role of the mighty Ravana, one of mythology’s most powerful and formidable antagonists.

Amid immense excitement from fans, Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi, who portray Lord Ram and Maa Sita in Ramayana, took the stage to a roaring response. As he made his entry, Ranbir touched poet Kumar Vishwas’ feet and spoke about the profound influence of the character on his life. The actor also expressed gratitude to Arun Govil for his iconic portrayal of Lord Ram, saying it has set an example that generations will continue to remember.

Sai Pallavi, meanwhile, admitted feeling a little hesitant while speaking in Hindi, but won hearts with her heartfelt thoughts on portraying Maa Sita. She spoke about the responsibility and emotion attached to playing one of the most revered characters from the epic.

The evening reached another high point when Yash made his much-awaited entry. The actor, who essays Ravana in the epic drama, received a thunderous welcome from fans, with whistles and chants of “Daddy’s Home” and “Rocky Bhai” echoing through the venue. Overwhelmed by the love, Yash greeted the audience and expressed his gratitude.

During his speech, Yash also spoke about his bond with the cast and shared how collaborating with such accomplished actors made the experience memorable and enjoyable.

Towards the end of the event, as the excitement reached its peak, the makers unveiled Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman. The actor made a grand entry amid thunderous cheers from the audience, with Ranbir Kapoor welcoming him by touching his feet as a mark of respect. Sunny spoke about his association with the epic and shared how Ramayana will always hold a special place in his heart.

Other than the cast, several spiritual leaders, including Baba Ramdev, Anandmurti Gurumaa, and others, were also seen at the event.

As anticipation builds for Nitesh Tiwari’s much-awaited Ramayana: Part 1, the makers have locked a key distribution partnership for the Indian market. Co-producers Namit Malhotra’s DNEG and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations have joined hands with Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, which will oversee the film’s distribution across India.

It is important to note that the makers will showcase the trailer at ComicCom San Diego on July 20 and post that it will be released for the fans on July 24.

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film will release in theatres on Diwali 2026, while the second part will release in 2027.
