Tajik President Emomali Rahmon on Wednesday invited Chinese manufacturers to come to Tajikistan, leverage complementary strengths and promote economic and trade exchanges and mutually beneficial cooperation in the future.
After arriving in southwest China’s Chongqing Municipality on Wednesday, he visited carmaker Seres’ super factory and an industrial park owned by motorcycle manufacturer Zonsen Group.
During his site visits, Rahmon paid close attention to all aspects of the manufacturing process and got behind the wheel of a car.
Rahmon said Chinese manufacturing enterprises boast a high level of automation and smart manufacturing, and the products of these two companies had made a good impression on him.
He noted that Tajikistan has abundant mineral resources and a strong labor force and the two sides can draw on each other’s strengths. He invited Chinese companies to invest and establish operations in the country.
Rahmon added that Tajikistan is ready to deepen bilateral economic and trade exchanges with China and advance more pragmatic cooperation in the future.
In recent years, economic and trade cooperation between China and Tajikistan has grown rapidly. In 2025, bilateral trade exceeded 30.8 billion yuan (about 4.5 billion U.S. dollars), up 12.5 percent year on year.
In the evening, Rahmon also watched a drone light show, where 5,000 drones lit up the night sky to create a spectacular display of light and technology.
Rahmon was on a state visit to China from Monday to Thursday at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping.
