Richmond’s noodle wave is about to add another player, and this one is bringing a twist.
We spotted new signage for Spice & Sea has gone up in the plaza beside Aberdeen Square, taking over the former Kingwuu unit right next to Master Rice Roll.
The sign reads Spice & Sea in English and 状元阁 in Chinese, with two specialties printed underneath.

The concept is a Chinese eatery focused on seafood potstickers and Chongqing-style noodles.
The format pairs crispy pan-fried dumplings with spicy, saucy noodle bowls under one roof.
Chongqing-style noodles, lean heavy on chili oil, Sichuan peppercorn numbness, and preserved mustard greens, which makes for a noticeably different bowl than the soup-forward noodles most Vancouver and Richmond shops anchor on.
No opening date has been announced, and no menu or pricing has been shared yet.
Jasmine Flower, the longtime Shanghai restaurant that previously operated on Granville Street, is gearing up to open in the same plaza within the coming days.
Other upcoming Richmond food spots that we have flagged include One Bolo, Pho 19, and HE MADE.
