After several days of intensive repair efforts, power was fully restored by 12:30 am on Wednesday in the Chashanzhuhai subdistrict of Chongqing’s Yongchuan district, following severe damage from a rainstorm, according to State Grid Chongqing Electric Power Company.
The disruption began from Saturday night to early Sunday morning when an unprecedented rainstorm hit Yongchuan. The Chashanzhuhai subdistrict experienced a staggering total rainfall of 296.6 millimeters in just two hours, with a peak hourly rainfall of 103.6 mm. This intense deluge triggered severe flash floods and geological disasters, causing widespread power line failures.
