Etihad and Condor expand partnership with Bangkok route

Etihad Airways and German leisure carrier Condor have expanded their strategic partnership with a new frequent flyer agreement, as well as the announcement of a Condor service between Bangkok and Abu Dhabi.

The developments, signed on June 11, 2026 at the IATA Annual General Meeting in Rio de Janeiro, build on a partnership first announced in December 2025. Bangkok becomes the third route in Condor’s planned Abu Dhabi operation, joining upcoming daily services from Frankfurt Airport (FRA) and Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) to Zayed International Airport (AUH). The Berlin service will be the only direct connection between the UAE and the German capital.

Under the new agreement, Etihad Guest members will be able to redeem miles on Condor-operated flights, opening up access to destinations across Europe, North America, the Caribbean and beyond. The partnership already includes a codeshare agreement and is expanding across network connectivity, commercial collaboration, and operational initiatives.

Connecting Europe, the Middle East, and Asia

With services from Frankfurt, Berlin, and Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) in Bangkok feeding into Abu Dhabi, travelers on Condor will be able to connect through Etihad’s hub to destinations across the Middle East, Asia, Africa and Australia, including routes to the likes of Zanzibar and Salalah.

For Etihad, the partnership extends its reach into Germany and Southeast Asia without having to operate the routes itself. For Condor, it adds long-haul connectivity through Abu Dhabi to complement its existing leisure-focused network.

Arik De, Etihad’s Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer, highlighted that the partnership has evolved quickly. “The addition of Bangkok to Condor’s growing Abu Dhabi operation marks another significant step forward, building on the upcoming Frankfurt and Berlin services and creating new opportunities for connectivity between Europe, Asia and the Middle East,” he said.

Jens Boyd, Commercial Director and member of the Executive Committee of Condor, suggested that the Bangkok route strengthens the offering for both airlines’ passengers. “Together, we are providing our guests with even more travel options and flexibility,” he said.

Both airlines agreed that the partnership supports Abu Dhabi’s broader tourism ambitions by bringing more visitors through the UAE capital and creating travel options that connect Europe, the Middle East and Asia through a single hub.
