With weeks of “dangerous” heat already pushing residents into cooling centres, experts warn Bangkok could face up to 120 extreme heat days a year by 2050. As climate change and urbanisation collide, the city’s heat is no longer just seasonal. The challenge now: how to live, work and stay safe in a city that’s only getting hotter. Andrea Heng and Hairianto Diman dig deeper into why Bangkok is facing such extreme temperatures and what can be done to alleviate the situation with Professor Mark Howden, Emeritus Professor, Australian National University.  He’s former Director, Institute for Climate, Energy & Disaster Solutions
