Malaysia Airlines has entered into a partnership with the French operator SNCF Voyageurs, allowing passengers to book a Kuala Lumpur–Paris flight and continue their journey by train to 28 cities in France in a single reservation.

Malaysia Airlines is expanding its intermodal transportation offerings through an agreement with SNCF Voyageurs, the French company that operates the passenger trains of the SNCF rail group.

The partnership connects the daily flight between Kuala Lumpur and Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport with 28 rail destinations served by TGV high-speed trains.

Tickets will be available starting July 10, 2026, on the Malaysia Airlines website.

Flight and Train in a Single Booking

The agreement is part of SNCF Voyageurs’ TRAIN + AIR program, which allows air and rail travel to be purchased together.

Passengers arriving at Paris-Charles de Gaulle will be able to continue their journey by train to cities such as:

  • Aix-en-Provence;
  • Lille;
  • Lyon;
  • Marseille;
  • Montpellier;
  • Poitiers;
  • Rennes;
  • Strasbourg;
  • Valence.

The reservation will include both the flight and the rail segment, and connections will be coordinated to simplify the transfer between the plane and the train.

Malaysia Airlines will apply its own commercial code to the rail services operated by SNCF, distributed via the IATA code 9B of AccesRail, a platform specialized in integrating trains into international air reservation systems.

Malaysia Airlines’ Network Extends Beyond Paris

Through this partnership, the airline is effectively expanding its European network beyond Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport without introducing new flights.

“By integrating air and rail travel into a single travel experience, we are expanding our network beyond Paris-CDG to 28 destinations in France, offering streamlined connections and a seamless itinerary,” said Bryan Foong, director of the airline division at Malaysia Aviation Group.

The agreement is part of the MHrail initiative, through which Malaysia Airlines is developing combined air-rail connections via major international airports.

The company already offers such solutions through hubs such as Seoul and London Heathrow, and the partnership with SNCF strengthens the service’s presence in the European market.
