Japan’s Mitsubishi Motors Corporation announced that it has officially begun sales of its locally assembled Xforce SUV in Malaysia, after pre-orders exceeded the company’s initial target of 2,000 sales in the last two months.

The XForce is a five-seater compact SUV developed under Mitsubishi’s ‘best-suited buddy for an exciting life’ concept. It has been launched progressively in markets across South-east Asia, Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa over the last few years, starting with Indonesia in November 2023.

Mitsubishi’s local subsidiary, Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM), is responsible for distributing the XForce alongside other key models such as the Xpander MPV and the Triton pickup truck. It is assembled locally by the company’s contract manufacturing partner, Hicom Automotive Manufacturers, at its Pekan plant in Pahang state.

MMM’s CEO, Takashi Sakamaki, said in a statement: “The XForce aims to be a vehicle that supports a wide range of customer lifestyles. From everyday driving to more active pursuits, the XForce is designed to encourage challenge and adventure. We remain committed to delivering vehicles that respond to evolving customer needs with a strong focus on quality and customer satisfaction.”

“Mitsubishi begins XForce sales in Malaysia” was originally created and published by Just Auto, a GlobalData owned brand.
