Malaysia Airlines has once again cemented its reputation as a leader in premium in-flight hospitality, securing seven distinguished accolades at the 2026 Cellars in the Sky Awards hosted by Business Traveller. Demonstrating an unwavering commitment to exceptional travel experiences, the airline earned two Gold awards for its Business Class Lounge Wine Cellar and the Business Class Lounge Red Wine, showcasing the renowned Château Larteau, Bordeaux Supérieur 2022. These honours highlight Malaysia Airlines’ ongoing dedication to delivering world-class service and luxury for discerning passengers.

The airline’s Golden Lounge at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) exemplifies sophistication and comfort, providing travellers with an oasis of calm before their journeys. Every detail of the lounge has been meticulously designed to embody the essence of Malaysian Hospitality. Guests can relax in an elegant environment while enjoying a curated selection of award-winning wines that perfectly complement the lounge’s extensive culinary offerings. From authentic Malaysian delicacies to the signature Live Noodle Station, international buffet spreads, and an assortment of desserts, the Golden Lounge delivers a complete multi-sensory experience that appeals to both the palate and the spirit.

Expanding upon its prior achievements at the 2025 awards, Malaysia Airlines has this year garnered accolades across a variety of categories, reinforcing its status as an industry benchmark in premium airline lounges. The full list of awards includes:

Among the Gold-winning selections, the Château Larteau Bordeaux Supérieur 2022 stood out for its remarkable craftsmanship. Produced on a historic vineyard located on the right bank of France’s Dordogne River, Château Larteau has maintained its winemaking tradition since 1776. The 2022 vintage captivated the judging panel with its deep ruby colour, layered complexity, and elegantly balanced structure. Experts awarded it a score of 93.0, noting its rich black fruit nuances, savoury undertones, and sophisticated depth—an embodiment of both history and excellence in winemaking.

All wines submitted for the Cellars in the Sky Awards underwent blind tasting by an independent panel of internationally recognised experts. Each entry was evaluated solely on its visual appeal, aroma, balance, complexity, flavour profile, length, and overall quality, ensuring complete impartiality. The judging panel included respected figures such as Charles Metcalfe, Sam Caporn MW, Peter McCombie MW, and John Worontschak, supported by industry consultant and host Kelly Stevenson. By assessing each wine without reference to airline branding, price, or origin, the awards ensured a level playing field, celebrating quality and refinement above all else.

These accolades are a testament to Malaysia Airlines’ broader strategy of elevating the travel experience at every touchpoint. The awards reflect not only the airline’s commitment to high-quality lounges but also its dedication to innovation, attention to detail, and exceptional service. From the moment passengers enter KLIA, the airline seeks to deliver a seamless and elevated journey, combining comfort, convenience, and premium hospitality.

Business Class passengers enjoy numerous benefits designed to enhance their travel experience. Priority check-in and personalised assistance ensure a smooth airport process, while access to the Golden Lounge provides a serene environment to relax, dine, and enjoy the award-winning wine selection. Additionally, the Private Terminal Transfer service adds a touch of luxury, using a fleet of high-end Mercedes-Benz sedans to transport eligible passengers effortlessly between the main terminal and satellite buildings, streamlining connections and minimising stress.

Onboard, Malaysia Airlines’ Business Suite and Business Class cabins continue the theme of refinement. Guests experience warm Malaysian Hospitality through attentive service and culinary offerings inspired by local flavours, paired with a selection of award-winning wines carefully chosen to complement in-flight dining. From the meticulous presentation of meals to the curated drink options, every element is designed to enhance comfort, enjoyment, and sophistication.

Malaysia Airlines’ global network further extends its premium offerings. Operating twice-daily flights between London Heathrow and Kuala Lumpur, the airline connects passengers to over 60 destinations across more than 20 countries. In-flight amenities include the on-demand entertainment platform MHstudio, a generous 20kg baggage allowance, and complimentary unlimited Wi-Fi across all cabins on the A350-900 fleet. These features ensure that passengers enjoy connectivity, convenience, and comfort throughout their journey, whether flying for business or leisure.

Through its consistent recognition at international awards, Malaysia Airlines demonstrates that excellence in airline hospitality extends beyond service alone. By integrating luxury lounges, award-winning wines, and elevated in-flight experiences, the airline continues to set benchmarks for the industry, creating travel experiences that are both memorable and refined. The 2026 Cellars in the Sky Awards accolades reaffirm Malaysia Airlines’ commitment to delivering exceptional journeys, blending cultural authenticity, premium amenities, and world-class service into every element of the passenger experience.
