Motul Indonesia Adjusts Product Prices Due to Middle East Conflict

JAKARTA – PT Motul Indonesia Energy (MIE) as the official distributor of Motul lubricants in the country announced a price adjustment for products circulating in the market. This step was taken in response to changes in global conditions which also affect the lubricant industry.

Managing Director of PT Motul Indonesia Energy, Welmart Purba, explained that the decision was inseparable from the increasing pressure in the lubricant sector due to the world’s geopolitical situation. The conflict in the Middle East region is said to have a direct impact on the fluctuation of crude oil prices and its derivatives.

“This condition triggers an increase in the world crude oil price, an increase in the cost of the main raw materials for the production of lubricants, as well as a surge in global logistics costs,” said Welmart, as quoted from an official statement, Saturday, May 2.

He also added that the weakening and movement of the rupiah exchange rate also had a significant impact on the national automotive industry supply chain as a whole.

“So to deal with this situation, PT Motul Indonesia Energy has taken strategic steps to ensure the sustainability of product supply, maintain world-class lubricant quality standards, and ensure long-term service support for all consumers and business partners,” he continued.

According to him, the price adjustment was carried out with careful calculations so that it remains in line with the changing market conditions due to global dynamics.

“We are committed to continuing to evaluate the global situation periodically so that our pricing policies are always relevant, competitive, and reflect the actual market conditions for the progress of our business together,” said Welmart.

With this policy, Motul Indonesia hopes to be able to maintain consistency in presenting innovations and high-quality products, as well as maintaining consumer confidence that has been built so far.
