he Indonesian Consulate General in Johor Bahru facilitated what was dubbed as the largest batch of repatriation in one day by facilitating the return of 307 Indonesians on Tuesday.
There were three batches of repatriation from Stulang Laut and Pasir Gudang ferry terminals in Johor Bahru to Batam Center Ferry Terminal in Batam, Riau Islands.
The 307 Indonesians consisted of 234 adult males, 72 adult females and one boy, with 300 of them were immigration detainees who were repatriated through Program M carried out by the Malaysian Immigration Department (JIM).
As of mid-of August, the program has deported 3,558 Indonesians through the scheme. This year, the consulate general has repatriated 3,920 Indonesians as of July.
Seven other Indonesians were repatriated using a special scheme. The seven were two migrant workers who had stroke, a 10-year-old boy, identified as LTJ, who was in Malaysia without parents’ supervision and four fishermen from Anambas Islands regency in Riau Islands, identified as HY, AS, SB and AW.
The four fishermen were drifted in sea for five days after their fishing vessel KM Samudra Jaya Makmur suffered from engine failure on Aug. 2.
Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning.
Malaysian fishermen rescued the four in the waters off the Malaysian state of Pahang on Aug. 6 before being handed over to the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) and the Indonesian consulate general.
