JAKARTA, Indonesia (MNTV) — A group of Indonesian institutions has formed a network to build healthcare AI designed for the country’s health system while keeping medical data under national control, according to Healthcare IT News.
The health-technology company Articura has signed agreements with five partners to develop what it calls Indonesia’s Sovereign Healthcare AI Platform — “sovereign” meaning the data and systems stay under Indonesian rather than foreign control.
The partners are the national brain and neurological hospital known as RSPON; the pharmacy faculty of Universitas Padjadjaran; the pediatric provider Axis Perifer Sentral; the primary-care provider Fokus Medika; and Orbiva, a subsidiary of a Hong Kong-listed firm.
The network will first identify practical uses for AI and test them across different care settings before rolling out tools in stages, with the hospital providing clinical leadership and the university contributing pharmaceutical and research expertise.
Articura also plans a National AI Healthcare Lab where clinicians, researchers, and technology partners can build and validate AI models and move workable ideas into clinical use — intended as a shared hub for Indonesia’s emerging healthcare-AI field.
