Jakarta, IO — The Indonesian national football team secured a 3-0 victory over Oman in the FIFA Matchday Garuda Championship Series 2026 at Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium in Jakarta on Friday (June 5).
The Garuda squad came out aggressively from the onset and took the lead in the 13th minute through a header from Justin Hubner, who converted a free-kick delivery from Nathan Tjoe-A-On.
The team, coached by John Herdman, continued to put pressure on Oman’s defense and doubled its advantage in the 27th minute. Ole Romeny found the back of the net after latching onto a well-placed pass from Beckham Putra Nugraha. Indonesia confidently controlled the match, while Oman struggled to establish its rhythm.
Oman had a golden opportunity to reduce the deficit in the 37th minute when it was awarded a penalty after Justin Hubner fouled Amjad Abdullah inside the box. However, goalkeeper Emil Audero produced a superb save to deny Sultan Alrushadi from the spot. The stop preserved Indonesia’s 2-0 lead heading into halftime.
