Destry’s term will run from 2026 to 2031, chairman of the Indonesian parliament’s financial commission Mukhamad Misbakhun said at the opening of Destry’s fit-and-proper test on Wednesday.
Destry became acting governor after Perry Warjiyo abruptly resigned in late July, well before the end of his second term, citing personal reasons. President Prabowo Subianto later nominated her as the sole candidate for the permanent post, but there was uncertainty over whether she would serve the remainder of Warjiyo’s term, or serve a full five years.
The rupiah and stocks were little changed, while the 10-year government bond yield kept its increase of three basis points after the announcement.
