A flag-raising ceremony was held on Monday morning in Wan Chai to commemorate the May Fourth Movement, aiming to encourage Hong Kong’s youth to seize the opportunities of the times.

Chief Secretary for Administration Eric Chan Kwok-ki and Deputy Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Sun Shangwu attended the May Fourth Flag Raising Ceremony 2026 at the Golden Bauhinia Square together with other HKSAR and central government officials.

Hong Kong prospers when its youth prosper, Chan said at the event organized by the Committee of Youth Activities in Hong Kong. He expressed his hope that Hong Kong’s youth will work hard and write their own brilliant chapters.
