The Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Mr Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, is set to present the government’s vision for a modern, transparent and sustainable mining industry to investors in Hong Kong.

The Minister arrived in Hong Kong on Wednesday to begin a strategic working visit aimed at attracting investment into Ghana’s mining sector.

He is expected to encourage global investors to partner Ghana in mineral exploration, mining, value addition and other related ventures.

As part of his official programme, Mr Buah will hold discussions with a leading business group and engage officials and market participants at the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, one of the world’s foremost financial markets.

The Minister said the visit forms part of a broader agenda to position Ghana as a preferred destination for responsible mining investment.

He added that it is also aimed at mobilising the financial resources needed to unlock the full potential of Ghana’s mineral wealth.

The Minister expressed optimism that his engagements in Hong Kong will strengthen economic cooperation between Ghana and China, noting that the visit is expected to result in increased investment flows into Ghana’s mining sector.

Mr Buah was received on arrival by Ghana’s Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China, H.E. Kojo Bonsu.
