Kazakhstan Showcases Rocket Launch Tourism to Hong Kong Travelers

Kazakhstan is bringing its unique blend of adventure, culture, and space exploration to Hong Kong, with travel companies promoting everything from city breaks in Almaty to once-in-a-lifetime rocket launch experiences at the legendary Baikonur Cosmodrome.

Six Kazakhstan-based tourism operators are participating under the “Visit Almaty” banner at the 40th International Travel Expo in Hong Kong, one of Asia’s largest tourism events, held from June 11 to 14 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, The Caspian Post reports via South China Morning Post.

The Central Asian nation is using the platform to attract new visitors as global travel patterns continue to evolve amid higher airfares and geopolitical uncertainties. The expo features more than 500 exhibitors from 68 countries and regions, highlighting growing international competition for travelers.

Among the most eye-catching offers is a specialized space tourism package from Rocket Go Travel, which allows visitors to witness a live rocket launch from the historic Baikonur Cosmodrome – the world’s first and largest operational spaceport.

The five-day experience starts at around €1,900, excluding airfare, and includes access to one of the most iconic sites in space exploration history. Travelers who wish to visit Baikonur without attending a launch can choose a lower-cost package.

Industry representatives believe Kazakhstan‘s diverse tourism offerings, ranging from mountain adventures and cultural experiences in Almaty to exclusive space-related travel, could appeal to Hong Kong travelers seeking new and unconventional destinations.

The promotional campaign comes at a time when Kazakhstan is expanding its international tourism outreach and positioning itself as one of Central Asia’s most distinctive travel destinations.

With its combination of modern cities, dramatic landscapes, Silk Road heritage, and access to one of the world’s most famous spaceports, Kazakhstan is betting that the journey from Almaty to orbit will capture the imagination of a new generation of Asian travelers.
