Italian law firm Gianni & Origoni (GOP) appoints Hong Kong-based partner Teresa Lee, strengthening its cross-border transactions and corporate practice capacities.

Alessandro Zalonis, GOP’s partner and head of China practice, said in a statement: “Teresa’s hire marks another key step in strengthening our presence in China. Her recognised experience fits seamlessly into our growth strategy in the region and makes a substantial contribution to enhancing our ability to assist Chinese clients with their investments in Italy and across Europe, amid increasing interconnection between Asian and European markets.”

Lee brings extensive experience in corporate finance and IPOs, with a particular focus on M&A, capital reorganisations and cross-border transactions. She has participated in numerous outbound investments by Chinese enterprises and advised on complex compliance matters. Her experience in international transactions spans multiple jurisdictions across the Asia-Pacific region, Europe and the US.

Prior to joining GOP, Lee had been a partner at JunHe’s corporate group since 2013 and earlier in her career, she practised at Ashurst. At JunHe, her clients included Chinese state-owned enterprises, investment banks, investment funds, as well as private and public companies.

GOP established its China desk in 2007, opening its Hong Kong office in 2014 and followed by its Shanghai office four years later. It currently operates 11 offices worldwide, located in Rome, Milan, Bologna, Padua, Turin, Abu Dhabi, Brussels, Hong Kong, Shanghai, London and New York.
