Ace
Bangladeshi racer Avik Anwar has made history by becoming the overall UAE
Touring Car Champion 2025–2026, clinching the title in the Renault Clio
category of the Gulf Pro Car Championship Series after Round 7 in Dubai on
Saturday.

Building on
his Round 6 victory earlier in March at the same venue, the Dubai Autodrome,
Avik’s consistent performance throughout the season earned him the
championship.

“Out of 40
international competitors, I became the overall champion with 377 points, while
the runner-up, Maxim Volykin, scored 207,” Avik said. Despite heavy rain in the
final race, he drove skillfully on slick tyres, crediting his success to “the
grace of Almighty Allah.”

Avik
dedicated the victory to Bangladesh, while he also added, “Despite limited
resources, tough conditions, and intense competition,” and expressed hope that
his win would elevate the country’s standing in global motorsports.
