
The ninth Global Sustainable Technology and Innovation Conference opened on Monday at the Flemish Parliament in Brussels, bringing together scientists, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and investors from around the world to explore innovative solutions for sustainable development.
Under the theme “From Innovation to Impact: Empowering Sustainable Transformation”, this year”s conference focuses on six key areas — energy, food, water, health, cities, and finance — and seeks to accelerate progress toward the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
One of the highlights of the event was a dedicated forum on the blue economy organized by the Guangzhou Institute of Energy Conversion of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Held under the theme “Empowering the Blue Economy: Pathways to Climate Resilience and Sustainable Growth”, the session explored how technological innovation can help balance marine conservation, climate resilience, and economic development.
