Royal Orchid Hotels-owned Hilton and Regenta Hotels have signed an agreement to develop 125 Hampton by Hilton hotels in India.

The collaboration targets the upper midscale segment, responding to growing demand from India’s expanding middle class and increased domestic travel.

The franchised hotels will be primarily located in states such as Andhra Pradesh, Goa, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, and Telangana, further expanding the brand’s global presence of more than 3,100 properties.

Hilton’s agreement marks the third such partnership in the market, supporting development through wide-ranging franchise terms across several new projects.

Hampton by Hilton hotels planned for India will incorporate design elements and services aligned with local expectations while adhering to global standards.

These properties will also be part of the Hilton Honors guest loyalty programme, allowing guests access to standard membership benefits and digital features.

Hilton executive vice-president and chief development officer Christian Charnaux said: “As we continue to strengthen our network effect around the world, India remains a strategic long-term growth market for Hilton.

“For owners, Hampton by Hilton delivers industry-leading returns through an efficient operating model and broad guest appeal. This agreement further reinforces the global strength of the Hampton brand and our confidence in the long-term growth of India’s mid-market hospitality sector.”

Royal Orchid Group founder, chairman and managing director Chander Baljee said: “Our portfolio is a healthy mix of owned, managed and franchised properties, and this partnership with Hilton will drive significant growth in the country’s mid-market hospitality segment.

“As domestic travel continues to grow and new economic centres emerge across the country, we see a significant opportunity to expand the Hampton by Hilton brand across cities in India.”

Last month, Hilton entered an exclusive agreement with YOTEL to expand its presence in the global lifestyle hotel segment.
