Google Pixel 11 Series And Pixel Watch 5 Announced In Malaysia, Pixel Tag Arrives Later This Year

Google has announced the Pixel 11 series smartphones (consisting of the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL, and Pixel 11 Pro Fold) as well as the Pixel Watch 5 – both lineups are now available for pre-orders, with the sole exception of One More Thing that is the Pixel Tag, which Google says will be available in Malaysia starting 11 November this year.

Unsurprisingly, all models under the Pixel 11 lineup are powered by the Google’s latest in-house Tensor G6 chipset, which delivers up to 20% better power efficiency, 25% faster browsing, and 15% faster app loading compared to the Tensor G5 found in the Pixel 10 range; the chip is paired with a Titan M3 security chip using “post-quantum cryptography.” All models start with 256GB of storage (which is now pricier, of course) and carry IP68 water and dust resistance ratings.

First up, the display and chassis: the Pixel 11 features the same 3,000-nit Actua display in the exact same chassis as before, while Pro models carry a 3,600-nit Super Actua display that is 9% or 300 nits brighter than the Pixel 10 Pro, with more than twice the scratch resistance. The Pixel 11 Pro Fold’s internal display is 20% brighter than its predecessor, also at 3,600 nits. All four models feature slight weight reductions across the board despite little to no change in chassis sizes; that said, the new Fold is slightly thinner but 3x stronger, though battery capacity also took a small hit.

The rear camera bar also gets updated hardware: the Pixel 11 and Pro Fold feature a 48MP main camera with 56% better light sensitivity than prior models; the Pro and Pro XL carry a 50MP wide main camera with a new 1/1.3″ sensor, a redesigned telephoto lens pulling 32% more light than the previous generation. With the exception of the base model, the camera bar on all Pixel 11 models also feature a new HiLight multicolor LED indicator that takes inspiration from Nothing’s Glyph LED, except much less quirky design-wise.

Google seemingly is pretty adamant that its Super Zoom (Pixel 11 & Pro Fold) and Pro Res Zoom (Pro & Pro XL) features are somehow the solution to compensate for the lack of sensor resolution in smartphone cameras, so it’s doubling down with the new AI model supposedly allowing you to capture what ultimately amounts to wannabe CSI “enhance” effects at zoom levels up to 30x and 120x respectively (from 20x / 100x in previous generation).

Speaking of which, AI is involved in a new feature called Magic Capture, which is essentially a smarter version of in-video capture that unblurs frames to create a equivalent photo. There’s also Camera Looks (customizable film styles), Instant Night Sight on Pro models (up to 4.5x faster than previous Night Sight), and Pro Stable Video up to 8K resolution with Video Boost on Pro models.

Battery life across the Pixel 11 series reaches a claimed 30-plus hours on standard and Pro models, and 24-plus hours on the Pro Fold; wired charging via a 45W USB-C charger reaches 75% in approximately 30 minutes on the Pro XL, while 30W charging gets to 55% on the Pixel 11 and Pro, and 50% on the Pro Fold. Notably, all models now get 25W wireless charging via Pixelsnap accessories.

With the design largely unchanged, Google has looked to new colors to reinvigorate its visual appeal – to a certain extent, at least. The base Pixel 11 features Frost, Pistachio, Hibiscus, and Obsidian colorways, whereas the Pro line gets Canyon, Olive, Fog, and Obsidian; oddly, the new Pro Fold model only gets a single color option in Malaysian markets, which is Obsidian (basically, black).

Google Pixel Watch 5

Meanwhile, the new Google Pixel Watch 5 features an Actua 360 domed display with scratch-resistant glass and a 2.32″ OLED screen at 1200 nits peak brightness; it is also IP68-rated and water-resistant to 50 meters. The 41mm model offers up to 30 hours of battery life, while the 45mm model offers up to 40 hours; the Quick Charge Dock provides 15 hours of use from a 15-minute charge. Four colors are available, including Obsidian, Fog, Olive, and Canyon.

In terms of the health features, it introduces blood pressure pattern tracking and insulin resistance trend monitoring (both arriving September 2026), while a new Sleep Breathing Quality feature analyzes minute-by-minute blood oxygen variation during sleep. Smart Wake Alarms and Bedtime Automations are also included, alongside a Morning Brief showing readiness levels, sleep metrics, and weather.

Fitness tracking covers 50-plus exercise types with customizable strength and HIIT circuits; to complement this, Google has a new Readiness Score metric that helps users determine whether to train or recover, along with post-workout Key Metrics view for performance analysis. The watch also features dual-frequency GPS for improved accuracy in urban and trail environments.

Gemini on the watch handles proactive contextual suggestions, complex requests such as navigation, and offline commands for timers, alarms, and workouts; powering that is a Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 Gen 2 Accelerated chip that is 20% faster on processing. The watch also surfaces dynamic updates (such as flight information and ETAs) at the bottom of the watch face.

Google Pixel Tag

As mentioned, the new Google Pixel Tag is coming to Malaysia later in the year, and here’s what we know about the new gadget from the software giant. It’s a finder tag that settled itself on an oblong shape, with a speaker onboard for the beeps, a removable CR2032 battery that lasts a year, UWB and Bluetooth Channel Sounding support, plus IP67-rated ingress protection. Only one color is offered, which is Fog. No local pricing is given on this just yet, but it’s expected to be slightly past the RM100 mark.

Availability

The Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL, Pixel 11 Pro Fold, Pixel Watch 5 (41mm), and Pixel Watch 5 (45mm) begin shipping on 18 August – pre-orders opened on 12 August, with an on-shelf date of 20 August. The Pixel 11 starts from RM3,999, the Pixel 11 Pro from RM4,999, the Pixel 11 Pro XL from RM5,999, and the Pixel 11 Pro Fold from RM7,999. The Pixel Watch 5 is priced from RM1,799 (41mm) and RM1,999 (45mm).

All phone models are available through CelcomDigi, Maxis, Urban Republic, Senheng, Shopee (online only), U Mobile, and TMT. Note, the Olive color option for the Pixel 11 Pro Fold is exclusive to the Google Store, and Pixel Watch 5 units are available online-only across the same retail partners.

Pokdepinion: Doubling down on Pro Res Zoom with even more AI is certainly a choice.
