Lionsgate Aug. 6 reported home entertainment revenue from the sales of digital and packaged media of $184.1 million in the first quarter of fiscal-year 2027, ended June 30. The tally was 8.5% above revenue of $169.7 million in the previous-year period.

Home entertainment revenue increased $47.8 million, primarily due to a $46 million increase in digital media revenue from Lionsgate Original Releases and Other Films. Lionsgate Original Releases generated higher revenue of $39.9 million, primarily driven by the theatrical slate title release of Michael and revenue from multi-platform releases.

Michael was released across digital retail platforms on June 9, followed by a disc release on July 14. Other top-selling titles included The Housemaid and Now You See Me: Now You Don’t.

Revenue from acquired and licensed brand titles generated higher revenue of $6.1 million in the current quarter as compared to the prior year’s quarter.

Revenue from digital sales of original and licensed movies reached $153.8 million, up 42.7% from $107.8 million last year.

Revenue from packaged movie releases on disc topped $9.9 million, up 22.2% from revenue of $8.1 million in the prior year period.

Digital sales of TV content fell more than 62% to $19.9 million from $52.6 million. Packaged media revenue dropped 58% to $500,000 from $1.2 million.
