Nabil Fahmy discusses regional developments with UAE Foreign Minister

CAIRO – 6 August 2026: Nabil Fahmy, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, held a telephone conversation with Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, to discuss the latest regional developments and a number of issues of common interest.


The call addressed the developments in the conflicts plaguing the Arab region and regional issues extending from North Africa to the Levant and the Arabian Gulf. The two sides exchanged views on ways to address the current challenges.


Both sides emphasized the importance of intensifying efforts to reduce tensions and creating a conducive environment for launching political and diplomatic initiatives that contribute to addressing the root causes of conflicts and establishing foundations to ensure enhanced security and stability in the region.
