His mandate involves managing coverage across India and major international hubs, including Dubai, Hong Kong, Singapore, and the UK, with a focus on delivering holistic solutions for Global India clients.

In his new capacity, he reports to South Asia private bank head Tommy Leung and MENAT private bank head Aladdin Hangari.

Leung noted: “As our clients become increasingly international in their outlook, the ability to deliver seamless cross-market solutions remains a key priority. Gautam brings deep experience and a strong track record in leading Global India client businesses, and his appointment will further strengthen how we connect our teams and capabilities across markets to better serve our clients.”

Anand has over 25 years of experience in private banking, wealth management, and investment banking.

He joined HSBC Private Bank in December 2023 in the role of global coordinator for Global India, Middle East, North Africa, and Europe.

Earlier, he worked in senior leadership positions at international financial institutions, tasked with supporting the growth of South Asian client businesses.

This followed the appointment of Alfonso Gómez as CEO of HSBC Private Bank (Suisse) SA and country head for Switzerland, effective 27 April 2026. Gómez joined from BBVA Switzerland, where he was CEO for more than 12 years.

He replaces Daniel Calado, who acted as interim CEO and will now return to his role as CFO for HSBC Private Bank Switzerland and EMEA while remaining on the executive committee.
