London, Seoul and Beijing Among Tajikistan’s Next Flight Destinations

Tajikistan is preparing to expand its international air network with planned new routes to London, Seoul and Beijing, as passenger traffic continues to rise in 2026.

National carrier Somon Air served 595,230 passengers during the first half of the year, a 7% increase compared with the same period in 2025. The airline carried 54,590 domestic passengers and 540,640 international travelers across scheduled, charter and transit flights, The Caspian Post reports via Khovar.

During the first six months of 2026, Somon Air operated flights from Tajikistan to Türkiye, Germany, the United Arab Emirates, Iran, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Uzbekistan, India and Saudi Arabia, strengthening the country’s regional and international connectivity.

The airline also transported 543 tons of commercial cargo and 5,000 tons of mail, while continuing operations with a fleet of two Boeing 737-900s and four Boeing 737-800s.

Meanwhile, Tajikaeronavigation managed 25,858 aircraft movements in the first quarter of 2026. Although overall traffic and transit flights declined slightly compared with the previous year, authorities are moving ahead with plans to broaden the country’s global aviation footprint.
