Kenyan TikTok creator Malon Kiptarus, known online as Skullchrusher, has died after reportedly drowning at Jumeirah Beach in Dubai.

Tuko reported that Kiptarus, a Kenyan man based in Dubai, died on June 20 after a drowning incident at the popular beach. The outlet said the news was first shared by UAE-based Kenyan content creators before spreading across TikTok and other social media platforms.

Mwakilishi reported that Kiptarus was originally from Kapsabet in Nandi County and had built a following by sharing videos about his life and work in Dubai. His content connected with Kenyans living abroad, especially those following the experiences of workers and creators in the Gulf.

Further details about the exact circumstances of the drowning have not been publicly released. Mwakilishi reported that Dubai authorities had not provided additional information, while friends and fellow content creators said funeral and memorial details would be shared once confirmed.

Kenyan Creators Shared News of His Death

Tuko reported that Kenyan influencer Peter Njenga shared details about the tragedy, saying Kiptarus had drowned at Jumeirah Beach and that emergency responders rushed to the scene. Njenga said efforts to save him were unsuccessful.

The report said Kiptarus’ death left friends, relatives, and fellow Kenyans in the UAE devastated. The public tributes began with creators and community members in Dubai, then spread to Kenyans back home as people shared condolence messages and memories online.

Kenyans in Dubai Mourned Skullchrusher

Kiptarus’ death drew tributes from friends, followers, and members of the Kenyan community in Dubai. Tuko reported that several mourners remembered him with short condolence messages, while one person said they had spoken with him only days before the incident and could not believe he was gone.

Mwakilishi reported that the Kenyan community in Dubai remembered Kiptarus as friendly, hardworking, and outgoing. The outlet said his death also renewed conversations among Kenyans abroad about welfare, safety, and the risks families face when tragedy strikes far from home.

His Family Is Preparing to Bring Him Home

Samrack reported that Kiptarus’ family in Nandi County is preparing to repatriate his body to Kenya for burial. The outlet noted that repatriation can place major financial and emotional pressure on relatives.

The same report said family members and friends described him as calm, friendly, and full of promise. It also identified him as being from Kaptel-Kamoiywo Ward in Chesumei Constituency.

Details Around the Drowning Remain Limited

The confirmed public details remain narrow. Kiptarus died after reportedly drowning at Jumeirah Beach on June 20, and the news was shared by members of the Kenyan community in the UAE.

No official statement with a fuller account of the incident has been widely released. For now, the public response has centered on grief from friends, followers, and diaspora community members mourning a Kenyan creator whose life in Dubai had become part of his online identity.
