“The agreements mark a decisive step in Engineering’s business refocusing journey: accelerating our push on AI, regaining new degrees of strategic freedom in the highest-growth segments including through deleveraging, investing in core proprietary platforms and strengthening our position in the most attractive technological and industrial segments, with the aim of securing a sustainable competitive advantage for our clients,” says Aldo Bisio, CEO of the Engineering Group.

As healthcare systems face growing pressure from aging populations and increasing demand for services, AI-driven automation and decision support are becoming essential components of sustainable healthcare delivery.

Italy’s vision for data-driven Care

The acquisition aligns with broader efforts across Italy to accelerate digital health adoption, strengthen interoperability and modernise care delivery through technology.

Alfahealth’s extensive experience supporting national and regional healthcare programs provides Accenture with a strong foundation for deploying AI solutions in highly regulated environments.

By leveraging integrated data platforms and intelligent analytics, healthcare organisations can move beyond reactive treatment models and embrace predictive, preventive, personalised and participatory approaches to care.

AI can enable earlier disease detection, support personalised treatment recommendations and enhance patient engagement through more responsive digital services.

The addition of approximately 1,200 healthcare specialists further strengthens Accenture’s ability to deliver large-scale transformation initiatives that combine technology innovation with deep healthcare expertise.

As AI continues to reshape the future of healthcare, the acquisition highlights how strategic investments in digital platforms and intelligent technologies are becoming central to improving patient outcomes, operational efficiency and long-term healthcare sustainability.
