JAKARTA – A woman with the initials R (40) was found dead at her home on Jalan Padamulya VIII, Angke Village, Tambora District, West Jakarta, Friday, June 19, 2026. Before being found dead, the victim was allegedly involved in a fight with her husband with the initials ES (30).

The case was revealed after the victim’s child told a neighbor that his mother had been strangled by his father. The information was then passed on by residents along with the RT Chairman to the police.

Receiving the report, the Tambora Police Criminal Investigation Team along with the Resmob Team and the Jatanras of the West Jakarta Metro Police went to the location and conducted an investigation. Based on the statements of a number of witnesses and the results of the initial investigation, the police directed ES as the suspected perpetrator.

Tambora Police Chief of the West Jakarta Metro Police, AKP Wahyu Hidayat, said the perpetrator had been arrested and was currently undergoing intensive examination.

“For the perpetrator who is suspected of committing murder against his wife, we have secured him,” said Wahyu when confirmed.

According to Wahyu, the perpetrator was arrested without resistance. From the results of the preliminary examination, it was found that the victim and the perpetrator often had arguments in the household. In fact, the two were said to have had a fight the night before the incident.

The police also seized evidence in the form of a pink bed sheet that was allegedly used in the murder.

Meanwhile, the victim’s body has been taken to the Kramat Jati Police Hospital, East Jakarta, to undergo an autopsy for further investigation.
