Senior officials from Pakistan and China held talks in Beijing on efforts to resolve tensions between Iran and the United States, according to the Chinese Foreign Ministry.

The meeting took place between Asim Munir, commander of Pakistan’s armed forces and chief of army staff, and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, Caliber.Az reports per Russian media.

During the meeting, Munir noted the latest developments in Pakistan’s mediation efforts to resolve the conflict between Iran and the United States. According to him, the parties are close to reaching an agreement.

The Pakistani military chief reaffirmed Islamabad’s willingness to continue facilitating dialogue between Tehran and Washington and expressed hope for what he described as China’s constructive role in the process.

Wang Yi, in turn, said Beijing considers Pakistan a reliable mediator trusted by both sides and voiced support for its diplomatic efforts.

“Peace, though hard-won, will ultimately prevail,” the Chinese foreign minister said.
