Dubai Abu Dhabi news LIVE: A UAE refinery that is one of the world’s largest has halted operations as a “precaution” following a drone attack on the industrial complex housing the facility. Ruwais refinery halted operations on Tuesday after a fire erupted in the nearby industrial area after drone attack.
Qatar on Tuesday said it intercepted a missile attack on the country and added that Iran has pressed its attacks against Qatar’s civilian infrastructure.
In a statement, the Gulf state’s foreign ministry spokesman, Majed al-Ansari, warned Iran that attacks on regional energy infrastructure during the Middle East war would be felt economically throughout the world.
“The attacks on energy facilities that have happened, also on both sides, are a dangerous precedent… it will cause repercussions throughout the world,” foreign ministry spokesman said.
The United Arab Emirates has reduced oil output by 500,000 to 800,000 barrels per day, a new report said. Meanwhile, Iran vowed that not one litre of oil would be exported from the Gulf while its war with the United States and Israel continues.
UAE says targeting ‘unwarranted’
The United Arab Emirates said it was being targeted “in a very unwarranted manner” during the war. The Gulf nation also said it would “not partake in any attacks against Iran”, which has carried out strikes on its Arab neighbours it sees as allies of the United States.
“The UAE does not seek to be drawn into conflict or escalation,” said Jamal Al Musharakh, the UAE’s ambassador to the United Nations in Geneva.
Australia to send missiles to help UAE fend off Iran
Australia will deploy a surveillance aircraft to the Middle East and provide the UAE with advanced air-to-air missiles to defend against Iranian attacks and keep local airspace open in order to help stranded Australians return home.
The UAE alone has shot down more than 1,500 rockets and drones since Iran began targeting states around the Persian Gulf, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and defence minister Richard Marles said in a statement. The rising wave of dangerous and destabilising attacks puts civilians at risk, they said.
Dubai keeps shelves stocked
Supermarket shelves in Dubai remain filled as the food sector continues to rely on logistics systems that proved effective during the pandemic and the floods in 2024.
However, some supplies are being redirected and transported by air or road. The United Arab Emirates government has also reassured residents that food reserves are sufficient for several months and said it is keeping a close watch on prices.
For now, shoppers are seeing little disruption. The main concern is how long this stability can continue after Dubai and other Gulf cities were hit by Iranian drones and missiles in retaliation for attacks by Israel and the United States.

US President Donald Trump on Monday suggested that the war with Iran could end soon, though he did not give a clear timeline for when the attacks might stop.
“I think soon. Very soon,” Trump told reporters in Florida when asked if the war could end in days or weeks.
Iran’s Revolutionary Guards responded by saying they would “determine the end of the war” rather than the United States.
