Actor Madhavan feels proud after Dubai’s Burj Khalifa developer praises Indians’ work ethic: ‘Hard work beats talent’

In a world where conversations around talent, degrees, and intelligence dominate career success stories, a recent comment by the man behind the world’s tallest building has sparked a wave of pride among Indians online. What stood out was not praise for academic brilliance or elite qualifications, but recognition for something far more grounded: consistency, discipline, and relentless hard work. The moment gained even more attention after actor R. Madhavan proudly reshared the clip, celebrating the global reputation Indian professionals continue to build through sheer dedication.

The video narrated the incident when Mohamed Alabbar, founder of Emaar Properties and the developer behind the iconic Burj Khalifa, at the Make It in the Emirates summit, praised Indians. During his address, Alabbar explained why he often prefers hiring Indian professionals. According to him, Indian employees are known globally for their strong work ethic, dependability, and willingness to take responsibility beyond formal working hours. He observed that many Indian workers remain reachable even late at night if work demands it, something he sees as a reflection of commitment and accountability.

Rather than focusing on intelligence alone, Alabbar stressed that long-term success in business is usually shaped by discipline, consistency, and execution. He shared that hard work is not simply about spending endless hours working. For him, it also means studying opportunities carefully, taking thoughtful risks, building capable teams, and paying close attention to details that others may overlook.

He also reflected on his own professional journey and said he considers his intelligence average, but believes his greatest strength has always been his willingness to work hard consistently. According to him, talent alone is not enough if it is not backed by effort and persistence. One particular statement from his speech quickly went viral online. Alabbar remarked that hard work ultimately surpasses talent when talented people fail to put in the effort, adding that this quality is exactly why he values Indian professionals so highly.

The news was later reshared by R. Madhavan on Instagram, where the actor expressed pride over the recognition Indians were receiving on a global platform.
