Yorkshire-based law firm Switalskis has strengthened its commercial property team with three appointments, including experienced director Sally Christey.

The nine-strong team, which advises developers, landlords and investors across the retail, office and industrial sectors, has welcomed Sally alongside solicitors Mathew Abiagom and Cyman Kaur to meet growing client demand.

Sally brings more than 20 years’ experience in complex commercial property transactions and will support the team’s continued development while advising on high-value acquisitions, disposals and development schemes.

She said: “Yorkshire’s property market moves fast, and Switalskis is in a great position to help clients take advantage of new opportunities as they arise.

“I’m genuinely excited to join a team with real depth of experience and a down-to-earth commercial approach.”

Mathew joins with several years’ experience working with clients across the private and public sectors, specialising in acquisitions and disposals, planning-led development projects, landlord and tenant matters, refinancing and secured lending.

He added: “Switalskis has a strong reputation for combining technical excellence with a genuine client-focused approach, which aligns closely with how I practise as a solicitor.”

Cyman returns to the department after training with the firm, having gained wider experience before choosing to specialise in commercial property.

She added: “The work is fast‑moving and varied, from leases and refinancing to purchases, and I’m excited to be involved in a range of really interesting cases.

“I’m looking forward to developing further at Switalskis.”

Their appointments mark the next phase of growth for Switalskis’ commercial property offering across Yorkshire and beyond.

John Durkan, chief executive at Switalskis, added: “The appointment of Sally, Mathew and Cyman shows our commitment to investing in experienced leadership and talented new recruits.

“They each bring valuable experience and energy to the team, strengthening our ability to support clients with their increasingly complex commercial property matters as the department continues to grow.”
