A 30-year-old judge was found dead at his residence in south Delhi, with police suspecting suicide after his body was discovered inside the
bathroom of his Green Park home.

The deceased has been identified as Aman Kumar Sharma, son of Prem Kumar Sharma, who was posted as Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) in North-East Delhi at Karkardooma Court. His posting was also confirmed by the Karkardooma Bar Association.

According to Delhi Police sources, a PCR call was received at Safdarjung Enclave police station at around 1.45 pm today.

The call was made by Shivam, the brother-in-law of the deceased and a resident of Defence Colony. “My brother has died by suicide in the bathroom at home,” he told the police, as per sources.

Police teams reached the residence, where Sharma was found inside the bathroom. He was immediately taken to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

Initial information suggests that Sharma died by suicide, reportedly by hanging. Police said no signs of foul play have emerged so far, though all angles are being examined.

The body has been taken into custody and sent for postmortem examination. Officials are also speaking to family members and close associates to establish the sequence of events.

Sharma had joined the Delhi Judicial Service on June 19, 2021. He completed his law degree from Symbiosis Law School, Pune, in 2018.

During his service, he handled several criminal and civil matters and served in different courts. Since October 2025, he had been posted as full-time Secretary at the DLSA in Karkardooma Court for the North-East district.

Police said the cause behind the suspected suicide is yet to be ascertained. Further details are awaited as the investigation continues.
