TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – State-owned railway operator PT KAI Commuter has confirmed that Commuter Line (KRL) services remained undisrupted despite a power outage hitting the Jakarta area.

“Commuter Line operations were not affected by the blackout,” stated KAI Commuter Public Relations Manager Leza Arlan in Jakarta on Thursday, April 23, as reported by Antara.

Power outages were reported across several areas of Jakarta today, April 23, following supply disruptions that impacted various sectors.

The outage led to the widespread failure of traffic lights, sparking congestion across the capital, according to the Jakarta Metropolitan Police Traffic Management Center (TMC).

Traffic officers are currently deployed on the ground to manage and alleviate the gridlock.
