Hong Kong’s Mirror star Keung To fined HK$2,200 for driving offences

Hong Kong singer Keung To has been fined HK$2,200 for careless driving, running a red light, and failing to display a probationary sign on his car while driving.

Court documents show that Keung, 26, had been charged after ramming his car into railings on Caine Road last November and running a red light at a junction in Kennedy Town a month later.

The singer, a member of the popular local boy band Mirror who reportedly obtained his probationary driving licence in February last year, did not appear in court on Monday but was represented by a lawyer at Eastern Court.

Keung was charged with one count of careless driving for the incident on Caine Road. A case summary states that he rammed the front side of his vehicle, near the pavement, into a railing at around 4.14am on November 28.

Both his car and the railing were damaged, though there were no casualties.

Keung reportedly told a police officer at the scene that he had been reaching for his cap in the rear compartment of the car while the vehicle was in motion, causing it to collide with the railings on the pavement.

He was fined HK$1,000 for careless driving on Monday.
