The Contra Costa Fire Protection District issued an all-clear advisory Friday evening after ordering a shelter-in-place citing a hazardous chemicals release in the Bancroft neighborhood northeast of Walnut Creek.
An automated telephone alert at 5:34 p.m. said the emergency affected an area east of Interstate Highway 680, south of Monument Boulevard and west of Oak Grove Road.
The all-clear was issued about an hour after the alert. The nature of the threat was not identified.
People in the area were directed to go inside, close all windows and doors and remain sheltered until further notice.
