Pramono encourages Persija to become an icon of Jakarta sport tourism, aiming to win the title of the capital’s five-century-old

JAKARTA – DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung wants Persija Jakarta not only to be a football club that is the pride of the capital city residents, but also to be part of the effort to build Jakarta as a sport tourism destination. The collaboration between Bank Jakarta and Persija is not only a business cooperation, but an effort to strengthen the sports ecosystem and the identity of Jakarta.

Pramono sees Persija having a big capital to boost Jakarta’s appeal through sports. A strong support base, especially The Jakmania, is a social force that can be developed if it is managed well.

“I also hope that Jakarta is now opening up as wide as possible to become a destination for sports tourism,” said Pramono, Monday, August 10.

According to Pramono, the relationship between clubs, supporters, and the community is an important factor in building a sustainable sports ecosystem. Therefore, he asked that the bond be maintained.

“In terms of bonds, if this can be maintained continuously, I believe this will be an extraordinary social capital,” he said.

The DKI Provincial Government, said Pramono, is also committed to creating a safe and comfortable match atmosphere. This is necessary so that the public has a stronger sense of attachment to Persija and to the city of Jakarta.

“Because that way I really want Persija to feel the match with a sense of security, comfort and feel proud that the match for Jakarta is a match for himself and also a match for his family,” he said.

The collaboration between Bank Jakarta and Persija takes place ahead of the 500-year momentum of Jakarta in 2027. Pramono hopes that Persija’s great achievement can be part of the celebration of that history.

The presence of Shin Tae-yong as the new coach of Persija is also said to be an additional energy for the club nicknamed Macan Kemayoran. Pramono hopes that the experience of the South Korean coach will be able to bring positive changes.

“I want to feel the champion of the League and at the same time it is a gift for 500 years for Jakarta,” said Pramono.

Pramono assessed that support for Persija is part of an effort to build the pride of Jakarta residents. He emphasized that his closeness to the capital club was not just a symbol.

Meanwhile, Bank Jakarta President Director Agus Haryoto Widodo said the cooperation with Persija is part of the company’s strategy to expand its closeness to the community.

According to Agus, the transformation of Jakarta into a global city must go hand in hand with the transformation of Bank Jakarta. The company is now pushing for the strengthening of digital services, professionalism, and competitiveness.

“Jakarta is changing, so is Bank Jakarta. We want Bank Jakarta to be more modern, professional, digital, healthy, and competitive but still close to the community,” said Agus.

During the activity, Bank Jakarta also introduced updates to digital services through the official BankJakarta.co.id website. The change is said to be part of an effort to provide a more modern service experience for customers.

Agus emphasized that Bank Jakarta did not want to be chosen by the public just because of its status as a bank owned by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government. Public trust, according to him, must be built through the quality of services.

The partnership with Persija is one way for Bank Jakarta to strengthen its ecosystem in the community. The two have a common identity because they both carry the name of Jakarta through their respective fields.

Agus also conveyed the target that Persija wanted to achieve in the new season, namely to win the title. The momentum is considered to be even more meaningful because Jakarta is heading towards the age of five centuries.

“For the team coach, there is one goal that may not be written in the contract with Persija. But I am sure all the Jakmania here have the same goal, Persija must be the champion. Moreover, Jakarta is heading towards a historic momentum of five centuries of Jakarta. If Persija can present the title at that momentum, that would be a perfect gift for Jakarta,” he added.
