Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan Supports Bule to Be Supervisor of the IKN Project in Today’s Memory, June 9, 2023

JAKARTA – Today’s memory, three years ago, June 9, 2023, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Menko Marves), Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan supports foreign officers (bule) as supervisors of the Nusantara Capital Project (IKN). The narrative was revealed so that the project’s work process was smooth and measurable.

Previously, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) was the most insistent person to move the capital from Jakarta to IKN. Jokowi wants to make IKN an example of a modern city in Indonesia. He wants the development not to be stalled.

The development of the capital city of Jakarta is very rapid. The flow of life and business is never quiet. The narrative makes the development while never stopping in Jakarta. However, a new problem arises. Jakarta is a city with many problems.

Population growth is high. This condition makes Jakarta crowded and congested. Not to mention it is getting worse with other problems such as pollution and flooding. President Jokowi did not stay silent. He correctly observed Jakarta’s position, which he considered no longer worthy of being the Indonesian capital.

He considered that the development of government facilities was limited. He began to think about moving the center of government from Jakarta to outside the island of Java. Later, the choice fell on the Panajam Paser Utara area, East Kalimantan – then known as the IKN area.

Jokowi then asked for permission and support from all Indonesian people. He claimed that the development of IKN was not only his idea, but the people’s desire. Jokowi also tried to reveal that IKN would be a symbol of Indonesia’s new identity.

IKN will be a representation of the progress of the nation. The narrative is because Jokowi wants IKN to be ahead of the many cities in Indonesia. IKN is considered a city that is from all kinds of problems such as pollution and traffic jams. He tries to ensure that the development of IKN will not stall.

“On this historic occasion. By asking for the mercy of Allah SWT, by asking for permission and support from the honorable members of the Council, the elders and national figures, especially from all Indonesian people, I hereby ask for permission to move our national capital to the island of Borneo. “

“The new capital is designed not only as a symbol of identity, but a representation of the nation’s progress, with the concept of a modern, smart, and green city, using new and renewable energy, not relying on fossil energy,” Jokowi said in his state of the nation address at the Parliament Building as quoted by Kompas.com, August 16, 2019.

Jokowi’s desire to see IKN seriously built does not wait long. His government ranks fully support Jokowi’s move. Take the example of the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan on June 9, 2023.

Luhut ensures the best workers who will be involved in the IKN project. Luhut ensures foreign workers – bules become supervisors of the IKN project. He fully supports this step because foreign workers are considered to be able to maintain the quality of the work so that it is good.

“Yesterday in Singapore we sold about this and they were very enthusiastic and all of them came in and we hope that 17, not hoping, must be August 17 next year we can have an event there. But the quality of the work is the key. “

“Therefore, I report to the President that the supervisor, we are forced with all due respect to use the bule-bule to become quality. So, don’t wait, the President, (work) will be, but the quality is not good,” said Luhut as quoted by lamandetik.com, June 9, 2023.
