Brazilian influencer Kauana Bilhar has died at age 26 after falling from the 27th floor of a high-rise building in Dubai.
According to Brazilian outlet G1, the tragedy occurred on Tuesday, July 7. Her uncle told the outlet that Kauana — who had been living in the UAE for two years — fell from the balcony of her room. The case is still being investigated by local authorities, per G1, and the late content creator’s mother, Darla Bilhar, reportedly traveled to Dubai to follow the investigation and bring her daughter’s body home.
G1 also included a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which is currently “monitoring the case and remains available to the family to provide appropriate consular assistance” through the Brazilian Embassy in Abu Dhabi.

On Thursday, July 9, Darla posted an Instagram video speaking out about Kauana, who had over 20,000 followers at the time of her death. Speaking in Portuguese, the grieving parent described herself as being in the “worst moment of my life.” Darla explained that she decided to speak out on behalf of Kauana, who cannot defend herself in response to “the accusations, the mean comments, the stories being made up about her” following the news of her death.
“I have to watch my daughter’s memory being judged, exposed, disrespected by people who didn’t know her story. It’s easy to be a judge when the pain belongs to someone else,” Darla said in her video, as translated into English. “It’s hard to imagine what our family is going through right now.”
She continued, “My daughter deserves respect. Those who really knew her know what kind of person she was, her dreams, her humanity.”
Darla also pleaded with the media, asking that the fatal incident be treated with “responsibility and dignity” as it is reported on a global scale. “To all those spreading rumors or giving opinions without knowing the facts, I ask just one thing — have empathy. Today it’s my daughter, tomorrow it could be someone you love,” she said.

“No mother should have to bury a daughter, and no mother should have to fight to defend the honor of someone who’s already gone while grieving,” Darla added.
Kauana last posted on her Instagram grid on June 25, when she shared how she became the owner of a British Shorthair cat. The social media creator claimed she’d previously been scammed while trying to adopt the breed, and she was grateful to have found a pet after all. “He has brought even more joy to my days,” Kauana said of her cat.
