2 killed, 6 injured in car accident in southwest China’s Chongqing-Xinhua

CHONGQING, May 10 (Xinhua) — Two people were killed and six injured in a traffic accident in southwest China’s Chongqing Municipality on Sunday, according to the municipal public security bureau.

The accident occurred at around 1:40 p.m. on Sunday. A 57-year-old female driver surnamed He lost control of her car at an intersection in Qianjiang District, Chongqing, and the car collided with other vehicles and pedestrians, killing two people and injuring six.

Police arrived at the scene promptly after receiving report of the accident and have helped send the injured to the hospital. The driver has been cleared of drunk driving, and the accident is under further investigation.  ■
