Japan’s finance minister says the situation remains unchanged regarding the AI firm Anthropic’s Claude Mythos model. She said her ministry and the US Treasury Department agreed on the access rights to the model.
Katayama Satsuki made the remark in a social media post on Saturday.
On Friday, AI firm Anthropic announced that it would disable access to its models Mythos 5 and Fable 5 for all customers in response to an order from the US government.
Katayama revealed in early June that the Japanese government and some financial institutions would be given access to the Claude Mythos model. She said this followed her talks about the model with US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent in May.
