
WANA (Jul 10) – A high-level Indonesian delegation led by Foreign Minister Sugiono and the Speaker of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) met with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in Mashhad on Friday after arriving in Iran to pay tribute to the late Iranian leader, Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei.
The delegation traveled to Iran at the invitation of the Iranian government, Indonesian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Yovon Myeong Kang said, to pay respects to the late leader.
The delegation is also scheduled to hold a separate meeting with Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf.
According to the Indonesian Foreign Ministry, talks between Sugiono and Araghchi are focused on strengthening cooperation in priority sectors as well as discussing regional and global developments.
