Jakarta. The Indonesia Stock Exchange lost Rp899 trillion ($52 billion) in market capitalization after a punishing week in which the benchmark stock index fell 6.61% to close at 7,129.4.
Total market capitalization on the exchange declined 6.59% to Rp12,736 trillion ($736.6 billion), down from Rp13,635 trillion ($788.6 billion) a week earlier.
“However, the average daily trading volume on the IDX increased this week by 4.44% to 44.88 billion shares from 42.98 billion shares in the previous week,” corporate secretary Aulia Noviana Utami Putri said in a statement on Saturday.
Average daily transaction frequency also rose 1.09% to 2.75 million trades from 2.72 million in the prior week.

However, average daily transaction value fell 3.67% to Rp19.61 trillion from Rp20.36 trillion the week before.
Foreign investors recorded net sales of Rp2 trillion on Friday alone.
So far in 2026, overseas investors have posted cumulative net sales of Rp42.8 trillion, adding to pressure on Indonesian equities.
