“Indonesia is one of the few countries capable of offering a complete adventure experience through land, sea, and air activities,” he said as quoted in the ministry’s press statement confirmed here on Wednesday.
Rifai pointed out that Indonesia has more than 17,000 islands and diverse landscapes. Therefore, Indonesia can offer a comprehensive adventure tourism experience with regions encompassing mountains, tropical forests, rivers, lakes, beaches, and seas rich in biodiversity.
This potential allows Indonesia to optimise the development of tourism services, which are currently shifting toward experience-based tourism and special interest tourism, such as adventure, wellness, and sports tourism.

Throughout the 2026, the Tourism Ministry has supported more than 30 outdoor events, including trail running, horse racing, motorsports, cycling, open water swimming, and fishing competitions.

The exhibition also offered a space for collaboration among the government, business players, and communities to promote innovation and sustainable growth in the adventure tourism industry.
